Oregon Convention Center Cooling Water Process Loop Replacement
Summary
The Oregon Convention Center Cooling Water Process Loop project took place during the winter of 2019. Hydro-Temp’s scope was to remove and replace a cooling tower and pumps, as well as completely re-pipe the existing system. This system served the kitchen areas of the Convention Center, which are critical to any event they are holding. With this being the case, Hydro-Temp was only allowed one month of shutdown time to ensure no events had to be cancelled. During this month, nearly 4000 feet of pipe was installed, four pumps were swapped out, and one cooling tower was replaced. Working as a mechanical prime allowed Hydro-Temp and the owner to work side-by-side and produce great solutions to keep their operations running throughout construction.
