George Fox University New Residence Hall
Summary
George Fox University’s Newlin Hall was completed in the summer of 2019 and is now the largest living facility on campus, sitting at 48,300 square feet. The newly built four-story residence hall boasts 97 rooms, a kitchen and laundry room at each floor, a two-story open lobby and even a full sized classroom on the main floor. As a design-build partner, Hydro-Temp’s HVAC crew installed two heat recovery units in the attic space to serve the stacked gang restrooms on either end of the building. The mechanical room was equipped with two boilers, offering radiant heat throughout the building, as well as GFU’s first set of four instantaneous domestic water heaters, providing hot water on demand for the students. Close communication with a fantastic owner during the design phase of this project contributed greatly to the successful completion of GFU’s newest living facility.
