Justice Center Bathroom Re-Pipe and Upgrade
Scope
The primary focus of this project was to re-pipe the (30) core restrooms from floors 11-15 of the Justice Center Building. Existing piping was upgraded to grooved stainless steel and PEX for all domestic water services in this project’s scope. Additionally, City of Portland Police locker rooms on the 1st floor were re-piped in a similar manner. New fixtures were provided throughout. ADA upgrades were made along with, tile, partitions, and interior walls.
Challenges
Access and security were challenges in this facility which houses the City of Portland Police Department, Multnomah County Sheriff Department, and several floors of secured jail. Additional scope came into project which in required work to be carried out within the jail floors. Great coordination and communication between the City’s project manager, staff on site, and all contractors made this project a success.
