Oregon State Police Crime Lab Cooling Plant Replacement
Summary
The OSP Portland Crime Lab Cooling Plant Replacement project was completed in the summer of 2019. Hydro-Temp Mechanical replaced four rooftop makeup air units and the facility’s existing chilled water plant with new equipment, including the first Arctic Chill air-cooled chiller in the state of Oregon. Due to the nature of work done on this campus, extra attention was given to minimize equipment shutdowns and changeover. Existing makeup air units were taken offline, craned off the roof, new units installed and started up in less than 3 hours. The changeover from the existing chilled water system to the new system was completed and functional in less than 48 hours. Close coordination with the fantastic owner and facility teams contributed greatly to the success experienced on this project for the State of Oregon.
