Walnut Park Dental HVAC Upgrade
Scope
The Walnut Park Dental HVAC Upgrade consists of replacement of (5) RTUs and addition of (8) RTUs. Upgraded structural at RTUs and patched roofing, and reroute and new install of ductwork for RTUs.
Challenges
Existing conditions had very crowded ceilings making the ductwork tricky. The dental clinic remained open during our work, requiring night work and weekend work. As mentioned, it was a dental clinic, so it required a high level of cleanliness to keep the owner happy. We were able to achieve this requirement. Halfway through the project, after the RTUs had been ordered, the owner noticed the design did not represent their intent. This resulted in the RTU controls being changed from BACnet to local interfacing. HTM worked directly with the vendor (Carrier) and controls contractor (Siemens) to come to a cost saving solution for the owner despite the units already being on-site at the time of the changes.
